2016 Aleksander

Our 2016 Aleksander is our very first blend integrating and highlighting the elegance of our estate grown Malbec. The blend is still Merlot dominant, however it has a delicate mouthfeel due to our luscious Malbec. Its great structure comes from varying components of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. It’s color is dark ruby, and it is very easy to drink at 13.3% ABV.

On the nose it is rich with plum, blackberries and dark fruits. Hints of tobacco, leather and smokiness come through as well. On the palate it is smooth, has nice acidity and it is rounded with grippy yet balanced tannins - higher than those of our previous Aleksander blends. The mid-palate is fresh and the finish is everlasting, making this wine one of our favorite food pairing wines yet. The wine’s characteristics come from aging in Serbian, French, and some used oak barrels for 35 months.
